Artificial Intelligence for the resilience of traditional European crafts

AIRECH is an Erasmus+ KA220 VET project involving Italy, Lithuania, Slovenia, and the Netherlands with the aim of experimenting a pilot project of generative AI application in the teaching of VET organizations that train skills for excellent artisanal production systems but at demographic risk and knowledge transmission risk, such as the processing of Parma Ham PDO (Italian Food Valley), Baltic jewelry (Lithuania), and historical textile processing (Slovenia).
The project experiments with the development of AI Agents which, virtually replicating expert master craftsmen in these trades, preserve their knowledge and at the same time serve as interactive teaching tools supporting both the learning of learners and the teaching of teachers.
The objectives of AIRECH are: to innovate vocational training to strengthen the resilience of unique production chains in Europe, to increase the attractiveness of these professions among young generations, to promote a targeted, ethical, and responsible use of Artificial Intelligence.
